Hello,
Is there a way to use the FHIR API to get a document that a patient has in their online portal? I am trying to show a result document to the patient and retrieve it via the FHIR API. It seems like the FHIR API has a method to do this but seems to only reference CCD documents so I feel that I need clarity on if this means all documents or only a subset of them that are shown on a patient portal.

The DocumentReference resource that you linked will be able to access all documents within the patient's chart. It will honor the domain config as to what is shown to patients vs providers.
