My company has a medical device that tracks patient and therapy session data. Currently we have an API that makes this data available in a fairly generic structure for EMRs to use. Seeing that we have a number of Cerner customers that use our product, we would like to offer them the option to get our data structured so that it does not required them to manipulate it upon receipt. A few questions I have concerning this are:

1) What data format does Cerner use for data transfer (we currently use JSON)?

2) Is there a place that I can get a specification for how this type of data needs to be structured?

3) Once I have this data structure implemented, is there somewhere that I can have it validated as matching the schema?

I was referred to this group by Cerner as a good place to start this conversation. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi Kirk,

This forum is specifically for our FHIR implementation. You could look at writing your application on top of the FHIR standard (you would need to ensure we expose the write functionality the app needs). All our documentation can be found from code.cerner.com.
