Hello,

I am looking to see what built in functions FHIR has around Surginet space. I am hoping to find a solution to plug in a CASE_NUMBER and First Name then return a STATUS or Location of the surgery. I see some stuff around returning Encounter info but this doesnt seem to include a surgery case information.

Thanks,
Zack

Hi Zack,

Unfortunately, we do not return anything from Surginet. Per our fhir.cerner.com documentation:

Surgical and radiology procedures documented in other Cerner solutions will return if manually added by a clinician in the patient’s procedure history.

As such, if the Procedure was documented manually by the clinician in the Patient's Procedure History then it will be returned from the FHIR API.

Thanks,
Ben (Cerner)

I thought if the system had cerner scheduling for the ORs you might be able to see status and location in the appointment resource?

I think you would need to query by patient_id and date ... not case number and firstname

Not sure you could get something like "OR 11" or "MAIN OR 13" back though.

Haven't played around with Appointment in a while, so don't remember specifics.
