All,

Could you please clarify the following Questions?

1. Can Patient resource be identified by CMRN?

2. Using Assigning Authority (SiteID) & MRN combination,  Patient resource can be identified?

3. Can Patient resource be identified by MPI?

Regards,
Pradeep

The Patient can be searched by Identifier [1] including any systems/values that are configured in a client domain. On many of our test patients, you will see some of the identifiers you mentioned. You can then take these and use them as a search parameter (identifer=<system>|<value>) and retrieve the same patient.

Thank for the response.

Please clarify few more...
My primary objective is to retrieve FHIR data for a Study. e.g. To retrieve observation resource(e.g. Vital science) for a Procedure/Study, preferable I think, encounter level search(using FIN/Account number) with a DateTime period would be appropriate.
Please advice.

Of course

My primary objective is to retrieve FHIR data for a Study and retrieve observation resources (e.g. Vital science) for a Procedure/Study. We would be grabbing specific FIN and Account records and associating the two based on specific time periods based on what they input into our system. Also we will be attempting to publish some of this information back through FHIR.

I'm not sure if you had a question there. Could you clarify, if so?

Aaron,

Assume, client domain is configured with MRN or CMRN as identifiers.
When identifying Patient by MRN or CMRN, FHIR may return one or more matching patient record.
If the above statement is true, then how can identify a patient?

Please clarify.

These will be set up as unique identifiers (within each alias pool; i.e. MRN, CMRN, etc.) so will not return multiple patient records.
