Hi Team,

If a customer have multiple domains set up, will the oid for each domain's MRN be different?
This is regarding the patient search R4 endpoint. Currently in the sandbox, only one domain is available and the oid for patient MRN is urn:oid:1.1.1.1.1.1. If a client has multiple domain set up, will the oid for MRN be unique across different domains or will client have one oid mapped to all domain MRNs?

Thanks,
Rui

Hi Rui,

It will likely depend on the client. Some clients may use one specific OID across all domains while others may use a different one.

Thanks,

Is there a way to auto-discover this OIDs used for patient and encounter identifiers programmatically through a FHIR API call?

Hello

The OID systems are returned with the identifiers in Patient and Encounter API call. As Ben mentioned, these maybe different across clients and domains.
If you need those values beforehand, you would need to work with the Health System to grab those.

Thanks,
