Release Restrictions

Are there any release restrictions we need to be aware of when querying patient data? For example, if a patient or health system would prefer that mental health records not be pulled, there can be documents or flags on the patient record or encounter to indicate this. Are these restrictions visible through FHIR calls? If not, how do we know which encounters not to pull?
