Hi,

  • Can you help to provide more clarification on how to pass one or multiple  input parameters or tokens  like (e.g. cerner_id=123) in Cerner side and where these tokens are exactly configured  in Cerner side, as this dependency is blocking our development and need further information for this to proceed.
  • May I know what does Cerner side define as and where it is found.

Thanks,
Akshaya.
Unable to find fields for adding input parameters in Cerner App.xlsx

Hello,

Cerner does not allow passing input parameters and return them on your callback or token. You need to follow the standard HL7 SMART on FHIR workflow.
There is a mechanism, where we could add a custom param in our configuration, so that when your App is launched you would get back that configured param with its value in the token response. However, this is a not a recommended approach and has its own limitations.

Thanks,
Fenil

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. We have the following doubts with respect to the previous questions.
  • Can you help to provide clarifications  where we could add a custom param in our configuration as we need to add 11 params  for our sampleEmr application (i.e.  userid, username, patientid, etc),
            Client Id: 1ee3ecd6-183b-4ed9-aad8-b749b2901dff
            App Id: abc4a723-8901-4e6a-9144-f9b98f59137c
  • Can you provide link of the standard HL7 SMART on FHIR workflow.

Thanks!

That would not be possible. As I mentioned, Cerner does not allow passing input parameters and return them on your callback or token. You need to follow the standard HL7 SMART on FHIR workflow.
A lot of information you mentioned, can be retrieved from the launch context.

Hi Fenil,

Thanks for your reply. Can you help to configure atleast one parameter for the below mentioned  appid ( for ex. patientId) from Cerner side, as you have mentioned in the previous response that there is a mechanism, where we could add a custom param in our configuration,  so that we will be able to view the configured param with its value in the token response from our side.

Client Id: 1ee3ecd6-183b-4ed9-aad8-b749b2901dff
App Id: abc4a723-8901-4e6a-9144-f9b98f59137c

Thanks!

Is not the PatientID context already available within the token response?
Also, for custom param to work, the App needs to be invoked from within the Patient's chart in the EMR.
