How long does Cerner SMART plan to support embedded IE 11 now that it is no longer supported by Microsoft? Are there any plans to transition customers to Edge?

IE 11 will be supported through Oct 13, 2026 through the ESU program [1]. Beyond this, no deadline is currently available for Cerner's support of IE11. Clients take, on average, 15-20 months for package updates. Assuming no special push is made, this means the average client should have Edge available in 2024 (not necessarily rid of IE11).

Since this is a larger, company effort, our SMART capabilities will continue to support this until that decision is made.
