Hi Cerner Team,

Need your help relating to Gender identity extension on patient.

We want to use gender identity extension. So using Power Charts, we added gender identity to the patient. It worked and was showing the selection of gender identity on power chart.

Sharing screenshot for reference

But when we are making any get call on FHIR for the same patient. we are not getting anything about gender identity extension in response like race, ethnicity extension .

Could you please help me understand, how I can get the gender identity extension in patient get call?

Thanks ,
Vipul

The Patient.gender and Patient.extension us-core-birthsex are derived from the Administrative Sex and Birth Sex values, respectively. In pmlaunch, these are shown:

Note: this example is for Connie S SMART in our public sandbox domain.

The values that you are looking at will be returned as Social History entities within the Observation [1] resource.

Hi Aaron,
Thanks. Based on your response, I tried using the observation end point with scopes including system/Observation.read. But I am getting exception for insufficient scope.

Could you please help me with all scopes required for authorization of observation end point?
