In a foreign language, terminology, or music-based set, having audio of musical scales or word pronunciation can greatly improve the learning experience.

A quick, free, and relatively easy way to record, edit, and upload your own audio (or edit and upload existing audio files) is by using Audacity. Especially if you're looking to create sound clips from a larger file or record yourself pronouncing vocabulary, a simple audio software is really all you're going to need.

Audacity can be downloaded for free at http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Once you've downloaded and run Audacity, you can upload an existing sound file using File > Import > Audio, or hit the record button on the tool to record your own voice, music, or sound effect (shown below).

Once you've recorded your audio, hit Stop.

You can now select the segment of audio you'd like to keep by clicking and dragging over the selected section.

You can now trim away the remaining sound by selecting Edit > Remove Special > Trim Audio, or by pressing ⌘T.

There are lots of other features in Audacity for editing your audio files, feel free to look around. When you're done, go to File > Export Audio... to create a .wav file that can be dragged and dropped directly into your items on Cerego.

There are probably tons of other tools out there you can use to do this with - for the diversity of projects I work on, Audacity has been my favorite so far for its simplicity. Hope this was helpful as you start to think about integrating audio into your sets!
