Remembering Michel

I was so sad to hear of the passing of a truly extraordinary man.  I first met Michel on a business trip to China with my partner Max Morandiere where he was always available to offer his keen insight and assistance with  our business.  However. what I most remember with great fondness was the many dinners at the French Romantic restaurant in Yantai where the conversation expanded to all forms of culture; food  art, music, cultural differences, etc.  With a huge smile, he would introduce us to many people of differing backgrounds, all coming together in fellowship.  It was clear that this was his "super power", bringing people together and celebrating our various cultures.  In this new world of polarized differences. a man like Michel will be truly missed.  Memory Eternal.

Dear Max

I was so sad To hear about the passing Of our dear friend Michel.  I remember him as a very cultured intelligent and empathetic man and I am sure he will be dearly missed.  For some reason I am unable to open the obituary so I would ask you kindly to offer my sincere condolences to the family and friends.  I still think about our times at the French romantic restaurant where the conversation went on for hours and covered so many topics as his knowledge was so varied and so interesting.

Also for Kathy and Lou and all of my friends in Yantai I would like to wish them all the best for the new year with all the peace and prosperity and good fortune that they truly deserve.

I look upon my time with Autotek and with our friends in China as some of the best in my life.

So please do me a favor and extend my heartfelt condolences as well as my sincere good wishes to everyone for the new year and I hope to speak to you soon.

Best regards,

PAT

Dear Pat, dear Kathy, dear Louis,

You will find attached the orbituary of our Dear Friend (in English pages 2,3 & 4, and in Mandarin / AI pages 4 & 5). If you wish to send a message to his brother (only one family member), and close friends, please send me your texts incuding points of contacts, I could print and include in the Funeral Book. Louis let me know if some people of Yantai Government will attend ? Some top guys of CN / Paris Embassy will be there I heard.

I'll miss him very much, as  those last years we had a good restaurant sessions in Paris, just the 2 of us.
I am both deeply saddened by his passing and full of admiration for this man who nurtured such a profound love for humanity, the arts, and literature, as well as the rich Chinese culture. And of course, he leaves with the serenity brought by the writings of Confucius—a true role model for me.

Kindest Regards,

Max
