Cerabox not opening pdfs in iframe

With the current 1.3.8 it is not possible to open pdfs in iframe-mode.
Exception: The new firefox (19) preview-mode-plugin does work...
Other plugins (adobe-viewer, foxit, etc.) do not open in iframe. Of course they do in a new tab with the same url.
In the mediaboxAdvanced it is possible to open a pdf in this way. Is this a small bug or not possible to realize at all?
