We've all see the green, yellow and hopefully-not-red bar Network
Indicator on the Centra Live client. Centra is a quality video
conferencing product. In light of this, do event participants report
experiencing video lag or network connectivity issues from time-to-
time? If these users are outside of your headquarters in remote
locations, what methods of network diagnostic troubleshooting are
available?
Our university has submitted two enhancement requests to assist with
answering these questions. Instructors at remote campuses will
greatly benefit from the ability to share
1) Enhanced 'debug' client log files providing indicator measurements
in milliseconds. The current 'poor connection rating' log entry is
vague, resulting in an indeterminate solution.
and
2) With the click of a button in the client, a trace route log is
saved. This assists troubleshooting by providing a real-time hop
counter for packets traveling from one router to the next on the
network.
