Our 9 June meeting will be at George Blackman's place. George will give us a tour of his woodshop and his blacksmith/welding shop. Goeorge is quite an accomplished welder, blacksmith, and woodcarver. You will be impressed with the knowledge and equipment George has acquired. He is a real asset to CO Woodworkers!
George will demo his sharpening techniques and talk about steel alloys for edge tools. So bring along any edge tools you want sharpened. (one per customer please.)
George is located north of Redmond at 6600 NW 61st St. It is not easy to find and GPS is not always right. Because of roadwork in the area (on Pershal Way) George recommends coming in on Helmholtz Way, left at Coyner Ave., rt on 49th St. , rt on NW Homestead way. Then straight ahead thru all the curves until you come to a stop sign on 61 St. Rt. on 61st St. to the end. There is a small paved cul de sac. You will see a small green sign on the right to 6600 on a dirt road. You will pass another residence. George's place is at the end. Park in the back on the gravel. Carpooling is highly recommended!!!
