Fellow Woodworkers,
Have you ever thought about building a Morris Chair?  The Morris Chair became famous in the Arts and Craft movement.  It is thought to be one of the first concepts of a recliner.  It had a hinged chair back with pegs in the curved arm rest allowing the back to be set at varying inclinations.  It also came with an ottoman to serve as a leg rest.

Several years ago, I built a Morris Chair.  In the process I consulted a professional upholsterer and bought the foam upholstery set for the chair.  I also bought a full cowhide of dark green tanned leather for my finish cover.  By mistake I was sent double the foam I needed and my cushions used less than half the cowhide I bought. I held on to this stuff thinking I would get around to building another Morris Chair.

I realise now that is never going to happen.  I don't have room for another Morris Chair in my house! Now, I am focused on downsizing my shop.  So I have a complete upholstering set for a Morris Chair with a beautiful Green leather finish. There are also good plans available in my FWW magazines.  (Look it up on Youtube.) If this strikes your fancy we should talk.

Yours in Foam and Leather,
Chuck Tucker
