Hi Folks,

A member of our carving group makes small turtles. They are small enough that at times he has issues trying to put certain features in the carving with a knife. He knows I make saws, so he asked me if I could make him a small saw for detail work. The attached picture shows what I made him.

The saw has a cutting length of 1 1/8". It cuts on the pull stroke, has 20 ppi, is 0.025" thick and has no set. I rounded over the sharp corners of the handle and left it there because I don't know what handle shape he wants - he has some nice knobs for knuckles. There is a short, blunt area at the tip of the blade. I will take a file with me to the carving meeting and finalize the tip as he desires. No finish on the handle - I don't know if he has any sensitivities to finishes.

I hope he finds it useful. What do you think?
