Fellow Woodworkers,
If you missed our Dec. meeting; you missed a good one! Ken Fisher in Culver demonstrated the construction of two demilune (half moon) hall tables. The two curved front techniques were informative and the leg inlays were fascinating. We had a variety of show and tell items that were very instructive in glue -ups and turning techniques. Our Jan. meeting promises to be equally instructive.
The meeting will be at Mark Marshall's shop, 60443 Woodside Loop in SE Bend. The meeting will be from 5-7 PM. Mark plans to demonstrate the weaving of a Danish cord bench seat. This is a method of weaving chair and stool seats which is very popular in modern Danish furniture design. Danish cord chair seats, backrest and stools provide a comfortable and long lasting surface. It can be adapted to various uses (such as canoe seats).
Show and tell items are always welcome. We want to see what our members are up to and learn from your experiences. So come out and join us and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow woodworkers.
Happy New Year, in Sawdust and Glue
Chuck
