Fellow Woodworkers,
Our 12 May Meeting will be at David Neilson's shop, located at 5330 NW Coyner Ave. Redmond. This is a meeting we can all use! David is going to take us through a whole series of sharpening systems from sets of oil, ceramic, diamond and two sets of water stones. He also has CBN (cubic boron nitride) , a super hard abrasive system I have not heard of!
He'll have all the systems set up so you can try them out and see what works best for you. He has some old chisels you can test or bring some of your own tools.
This is a great way for beginning/intermediate woodworkers to get a feel for what sharpening systems work best for them! I readily confess there is always something new for us "old" guys to learn as well. Sharpening is so basic to what we all do, this is an opportunity to up your game.
So grab one of your dull tools and come on out. I look forward to seeing you there.
Your in sawdust, glue and stones,
Chuck Tucker
