Fellow Woodworkers,
Mark Marshall gave an excellent demo of Danish cord seat weaving at our January meeting. He also sent out some excellent YouTube videos on the technique. For our February meeting we will visit Ken Hopkin's metal work and blacksmith shop, 16795 Wilt Rd. NE of Sisters.
Ken has added a new woodshop onto his existing building. He has the shop mostly equipped and is looking for suggestions on how to proceed. He is particularly interested in static control for his PVC dust collection system. So we want to draw on the group's experience to help him complete his shop. Ken will also give us a tour of his metal work and blacksmith shop.
This will definately be a carpool event. So call your woodworking friends. We will meet 5-7 PM to give you some daylight to find your way. Ken says from Wilt Rd. turn right on the driveway (16795), just before Stardust. Proceed through the gate then right. The shop is at the top of the hill.
For the Bend/ Redmond crowd, GPS may route you to Sisters, but Rt. 126 from Redmond will connect to Camp Polk Rd. which will take you north to Wilt Rd. Bend folks can take the Cloverdale Rd. cutoff north from Rt. 20 to Rt. 126 then left (west) to Camp Polk Rd.
Bring a friend; your show and tell, wisdom and humor! I look forward to seeing you there.
Yours in Sawdust and Glue,
Chuck Tucker
