Greetings fellow woodworkers. I am hosting the COW meeting in July and would very much appreciate some feedback regarding subject/presentation for the meeting. I feel it is always nice to see a technique or process we may not be familiar with. Or even see and discuss how someone else does something we may be familiar with.
I am currently considering two completely different subjects.
1. An in depth look at what is involved to create a segmented piece that then gets turned.
: I do not have ample room around my lathe to do a turning demonstration but that is quite boring to watch for most anyway. It would be more about all the steps involved to get to the point of turning. I can turn a little if there is interest.
2. Some sort of application using veneer. Again this would be a discussion around steps involved to prepare veneer and substrate for actual application(s). Plus discussion around equipment needed (or at least suggested) to press the veneer.
It’s YOUR meeting. Please give me some feedback if you feel one of these subjects would be of interest. Or I am also open to suggestions. Also please consider responding to this email sooner than later so I can be well prepared and we can have a fruitful meeting.
As Chuck would say,
Yours in sawdust.
