It is my unhappy task to inform you of the death of Central Ohioans
for Peace's founder and first President, the Rev. Dr. William Barndt
(United Church of Christ). Bill has been active in central Ohio
peacemaking for several decades, and COFP is not the only group which
has benefited from his wisdom and enthusiasm. On a personal note, he
played an important role in my acceptance by the peace movement here,
nearly 5 years ago.

He will be sorely missed. Please hold Laura, Van, and his other
children and grandchildren in your hearts during this difficult time.
I'll pass along information about funeral services as they become
available.

Hello Deb Oskin and COFP:

Thank you for the update on Bill. It is with great feelings of loss that we must proceed in these next few days. If it was Bill, he would definitely make a good event of commemoration, but he would not stop organizing.

On goes the struggle for Peace and Justice, may we forever remember the Reverend William Barndt. Keep Laura and Van and the rest of the family in our prayers. Remember its not always the most immediate words of support but it is that which is said with the long memory of Bill's love of his family, his community, and the world.

Peace and Love, Mark Dietrich Stansbery
