Greetings, Local Makers!

I am down at the Idea Foundry tonight, so we'll have an on-site
component as well as the usual gather.town experience.

Paving on State St. is largely done but the signage hasn't gone up
yet. The area is completely passable, no cones/barricades.

In the meantime, parking at the Idea Foundry is much the same -
app-based paid parking on neighborhood streets or a block away in the
Gravity Garage.

For the virtual part of the meetup, we'll once again be in
gather.town. Same link and credentials as before:

Gather put up a message saying the cormug license has expired.  We can use Zoom or Google Meeting.

Indeed! Turns out, Gather launched 2.0 a few weeks back and
terminated all the free plans. I only just discovered a few minutes
ago when I went to launch the meeting room (I had not received any
communication in September about the impending changes).

https://support.gather.town/hc/en-us/articles/39590892978196-Understanding-Gather-s-pricing-changes-2025

I had previously skipped using Zoom because during the Pandemic, it
was free up to 4 users and up to, I think, an hour (maybe just short).
Either way, for the needed scale, it was not free and at the time,
Gather was.

I have zero sponsorship for this meetup and do not plan to use any
paid meeting framework.

Google Meeting appears to be free for one hour meetings for up to 100
participants. It won't have the constant URL like Gather did so I'll
have to broadcast that at the start of each session.

Hi Ethan! Thanks for the quick reply and action.
I used Google meeting each week and am very happy with it.
The 1 hour limit is easily solved by just having everyone re-login.
I have a permanent meeting link set up and you would be welcome to use the same facility if you are interested.
In the mean time, I'll forward this email to the (formerly) gather computer and connect. See you shortly (as of 19:23 or so EST)
