Greetings,

I'm looking for direction in taking an idea for an app to creation. I'm currently principal of San Gabriel Elementary in Atascadero, and I have a great idea for a "behavior" app, that I'd like to deploy on iPod Touches (or some other device that I put into students' hands). I'm currently working out the details with a classroom teacher, and plan to try it out "analog" (yep, paper and pencil), hoping to work out bugs in the design and practicality stage.

However, I see that Google's App Inventor is temporarily suspended while in transition to M.I.T., and creating an app for Apple appears to require the knowledge of C++. My programming skills ended with Pascal in 1988.

Any ideas on how to partner with someone(body) to create what could be an extremely useful app for education?

Thanks,
Chris

I forwarded Chris' email to John Bellardo who is currently teaching an iPhone class at Cal Poly.

I am on sabbatical this winter and spring so I have less contact with students than usual.  I do have a student working on a local deployment of App Inventor until MIT gets theirs deployed.  He is creating an online version of the new AP CS Principles course using App Inventor as the primary programming environment. It may be possible to use his deployment if you decide to try that route.

Thanks for the email Chris.
