Hello All,

Sorry about the email on Easter weekend, but I'm working on a grant
due Monday. Here is the question:
If I want to advertise to high school teachers nationwide, what would
be appropriate avenues?

In particular, if I want to advertise to teachers/principals who are
thinking about adding a computer science course (e.g. the upcoming AP
CS Principles course), how would I do that?

Are there email lists you all receive?

Are there publications you all receive?

Should I put a booth at a conference? (e.g. SkillsUSA)

Thanks for any ideas you might have.

Hi David,
The CA department of education has a professional social networking site that you can join and post the info in the forums area:
http://myboe.org

I believe there's an AP Computer Science Teachers list serv that Jan Fetcho has told me she belongs to. I'll cc: Jan and hopefully she can send you the URL of the list serv.

Hi David,
It's possible this is too little, too late, but maybe it can still be useful... I would recommend putting something in the NSTA (National Science Teacher Association) or CSTA (California...) publications- there are both "newspaper" and "magazine" formats of publications from NSTA, and only magazine formats from CSTA.
A booth at a conference is also a good idea- the CSTA conference is in San Jose this year. (http://www.cascience.org/csta/conferences.asp)
Good luck- last summer's workshop was great, so it's awesome to hear you're continuing the trend.
