I currently have several Samsung M5/M7 wireless speakers connected to a Samsung Wireless Audio Multiroom hub. I control this from the multiroom app. this is a good setup but I would like to voice control this setup via the Amazon Dot. Anyone have any experience with this setup? Both the Smartthings hub and the Dot see the speakers (but not the hub). I can turn on the speakers with the smartthings hub but only have on/off capability and not change of station (Pandora) or grouping of speakers.
So can anyone offer any insight to getting this setup to work via voice control?

I have several of the M7 and M5 speakers and a hub. The hub became such a pain that I stopped using it and just use Bluetooth to connect each speaker to an echo device. I then created groups for music (downstairs, upstairs, outside, everywhere) and just have Alexa plan music or notification or routines.

Tks John!
my Bluetooth tv recognizes both speakers but only allows me to run one at a time. Maddening!
I have an echo dot. How would I go about getting both speakers to run simultaneously?
Appreciate the help.

Howdy. I have a Q800T. It is working on HDMI, and also working as an Alexa device. I can control it with my voice, and I can see it as a device in both the Samsung SmartThings and Amazon Alexa mobile apps.

I have a lot of Amazon Echo devices, and I use them as part of speaker groups to play multiroom audio (e.g. "Alexa, play Bob Dylan everywhere"). MY QUESTION: IS THERE A WAY FOR ME TO ADD THE Q800T TO AN ALEXA SPEAKER GROUP? It isn't showing up on a scan in HDMI, WiFi, or BT modes. Thanks!

Good afternoon. The functionality of adding your sound bar to an Alexa speaker group is not currently supported. This suggestion has been forwarded to our engineers, but I have no information as to when this might be added, or if it even can be added.

I am encountering this same issue, but with the q900t. Despite being integrated into alexa and being able to play music through the soundbar through the app, it is not an available addition to a multi room music group. Did you find an answer to this question? I have already reached out to Alexa support with no solutions found yet.

Same here with the Q950t - I'm going to charge out on a limb and say this isn't supported. Moreover, multi room is probably only supported on actual Echo devices, as it may very well be something in their firmware specifically that enables this functionality.

I was wondering if anyone tried (and maybe succeeded) connecting two Samsung Multiroom speakers to PC so that they can play system sound in stereo. Using Samsung Multiroom application for desktop PC I am able to connect to both speakers and make them play stereo sound but only with Spotify (which uses Spotify connect) and by playing individual mp3/wav files from my disk (I have figured out they are uploaded to the speakers with HTTP protocol before being played). What I would like to achieve is to basically play all my system sounds through those speakers. Like anything: Youtube, games, movies etc.

I have not tried this solution because of lack of required equipment but probably sending the sound over HDMI cable to some modern Samsung TV that is linked with the speakers would work. I am wondering how does such TV connect to the speakers? Any why couldn't my PC connect directly to them?

Had good multiroom speaker results with Spotify and phone app, but the difficulty in making it work with a PC (let alone a non-Spotify service) has resulted in me replacing all of them with Google Home/GH Minis and Chromecasts. Samsung's decision to not have an audio input means that I can't even use them as non-smart powered speakers, although I was going to rip them open and check on the possibility at some stage.

Looks like I probably have the M5s rather than the M7 - the M7 may have aux-in. This page seems to have a bit of a round-up of people looking into the speakers, but as with the github links above it's mostly to do with controlling music playing on the speakers (pause, volume etc) and not sending music to them.

You're right in that it must be streaming from the TVs but I couldn't find much more info - some people used Samsung's Soundconnect, but that just appears to be a simple bluetooth protocol. It looks like the connection uses their "Smartview" protocol, but most of the Samsung TV protocol analysis I could find was only around emulating the network remote software.

The Java code I use to play an audio file can be found here: It is very simple but works. I have just discovered that the speaker can play ogg-vorbis stream so if I am able to encode my system sound to ogg then I should be able to make it work. Any changes to the code will be posted to github.

I have having problems once again trying to log into deezer on my Samsung multiroom app it keeps coming up wrong user I'd or password I have changed the password twice & still can't sign in can anyone help me with this matter thanks.

Voicing my concern on this same topic - hopefully Samsung notices how many people are having this issue and resolves it. Bought the Q90A 85" TV and it works fine for all Alexa features, just not allowing to add it in speaker group. Considering buying a soundbar but very hesitant because of this lack of functionality.

Same problem on HW-S61A. Sound bar is advertised as supporting Alexa so should be able to add it as a speaker in Alexa. Ridiculous this is not supported and no substantive response on supporting it. Sound bar will be returned to Amazon as not meeting stated spec.

Q70T here. Same issue. This really isn't okay, Samsung (@Anonymous @SamsungLK). If you claim the product can be integrated with Alexa, then make sure it can be. It's a speaker. No valid reason it shouldn't be able to be added to a speaker group.

How can a company like Samsung leave a problem like this unsolved for so long? One of the reasons I bought this soundbar was this integration, but it doesn't work!? What are Samsung waiting for to solve this problem!? This should be a simple thing to fix!

This is really frustrating. I bought a Q950A (now about 1 year later than the original post) and it still has the same issue. As "one of the top soundbars of the world". Please realize, that promoting a product as well by its "smart features" doesn't go along very well, when they are not working properly. This caused a lot of frustration for me yesterday when I was trying for hours all kinds of "fixes" to just to finally arrive at this post and be informed it is NOT POSSIBLE. That it is not possible at all is hard to grasp, when all your devices show up everywhere (Spotify, Alexa App) but still can not function together. My Teufel Holist jsut does. The good thing is (at least I hope) that this can be fixed via Software update instead of buying a new device. But PLEASE PUSH THIS FEATURE ON THE ROADMAP.

I have same issue with Q800A :(. Alexa support is very poor. Unsupported playing from Spotify via alexa combined with imposibility to add soundbar to speaker group makes it uselles. Built in alexa is actualy turned off (Has very low sensibility too in comparision with original echo devices) and soundbar is connected to another alexa via bluetooth. But It doesn't solve problem with multiroom (only with Spotify). I am realy thinking about change for Sonos or anything working good... Anyway the soundbar is great, compatible with my samsung tv etc... but it was chosen based on built in Alexa...
