to Center for Pragmatic Buddhism
The Buddhist concept of "anatman," often translated as "no-Self," is
perhaps the most misunderstood idea in Buddhism. Is it the rejection
of a "Self" or "Soul," or is there more to this concept? How did the
Buddha derive this idea and why? Where does "anatman," translated as
"selflessness" at CPB, fit in our contemporary situation? What import
does it have for our moral obligations and everyday lives?
This week at CPB, we will be examining "anatman" to better understand
its implications for our practice. Come join us this week for
practice, tea and great discussion.
See you soon!
