After reading the entire 100 Years of Solitude, I was left almost more
confused than when I was reading it. The book was nicely written, but
it seemed to flow all over the place. It jumped from good parts to
gross parts to bad parts and I really couldn't keep track of what was
going on because it was such a mix of emotions. I think that Gabriel
Garcia Marquez put a lot of emotion into the book which really had a
nice effect on the novel as a whole. I think that Marquez put a lot
into the story that he felt about his life growing up. The novel
seemed to really emphasize certain parts such as the visits with Pilar
Ternera. It makes me wonder if something like that happened in
Marquez's past. The book started off kind of slow but really picked up
quickly in the middle and then towards the end took a few curves that
really made me think and stick with reading it.
