Throughout this novel many people portray that they have low morals or
no morals at all. Many situations occur when it makes the reader
think, "what were they thinking?".
In the novel, Colonel Aureliano Buendia and his brother Jose Arcadio
both have children by Pilar Ternera. I think that is incredibly
rediculous and disgusting. One lady should not have children fathered
by two men that are brothers. That means this lady has really low
morals and I find it really disturbing.
Another really big thing that bothered me in this book is how when the
gypsies came in town there was a little girl there forced to have
sexual relations with men if they paid her. That just shows how
disgusting everyone was in the small town.
A last thing that bothered me about the novel is how violent Arcadio
was. He was always wanting to fight and kill people. Which eventually
came back to hurt him, but still it was wrong. Arcadio gained so much
power that he became so greedy and went on killing rampages. It was
kind of upsetting how selfish and violent he was.
