Ursula Iguaran seems to be unappreciated. Throughout the novel she
does nothing but kind needs and looking after people. She always seems
to be there for all of her children and grandchildren. However it
seems as if no one is there for her. She commits her life to putting
others before her and she gets nothing in return. In the first chapter
it shows just how commited to her husband she is. All she wants to do
his make him happy, and it return he just makes her cry because he
doesn't pay any attention to her. Instead of paying attention to her
he just fantasizes about what he wants to invent and discover.
Ursula also tends to all of her children/grandchildren in the same
way. Regardless of what bad behaviors or bad actions they have done
she loves and cares for them all the same. This is very admirable.
This shows that she is such an open and forgiving woman. She opens her
arms to everyone and always aids a lending hand.
It makes me sad that she is unappreciated. She does so many good
things for other people and not many people do good things for her. I
wish that her good deeds were reciprocated because I hate seeing
people that do not get what they deserve.
