Hi there - I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction for
some help. I have a pdf document created with CenoPDF that I want to
add a splash page to when the file opens. This document is an
application that I want to strongly suggest to the user to fill out on
the computer rather than printing off and hand writing the
information. 7 out of 10 users don't realize that the document is
fillable so I need to make sure they are aware of it when they open
the document or before it is printed.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Jake

Hello Jake,

There are two ways you can try:

The first way is to display a message box when the first page of the
document is opened. The third sample here shows the idea:

The second way is to directly put some text boxes with comments and
highlight color on your document to tell your users what they should
do and make those text boxes not printable.

Let us know if there is anything we can help you.

Thanks,

Thanks for the quick response. I like the idea of using a text box but
can I make the text a different color and possibly bold and then have
it disappear once the user clicks on it. Is that possible?

You are welcome.

You can change the appearance of your text box on its property page:
You can click the Text Color button to change the text color. For the
bold font, you can go to the Font drop down list and choose something
with "Bold" in the font name, such as "Times Bold", etc.

In the property page, there is another drop down list called "Form
Field Is". You can choose "Visible but doesn't print" and this is my
recommended way.

If you really want to make the text hidden after you click on it, you
will need some Javascript to do that. I will do some research for you
if you really want to go this way. Please let me know.

Thanks,

Sounds good. Thanks again for the help. I'll go with your suggestion
and see how the users react. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks again...
Jake
