Robertus Omnibus Latinitem Amantibus SPD
I haven't been active in this group, more's the pity, but I thought I'd take the opportunity (some would say "have the chutzpa") to inundate your inboxes with a million unbidden pixels: an article I just wrote on a linguistic (perhaps better "linguisticky") approach to Latin conjugation. You might find it astoundingly brilliant or so trivial and obvious—or just plain useless—as to bring shame upon the author. Teachers can read it and pass on that wisdom to students, and general language lovers can just rejoice in it. I'm giving a paper on it at ACL and will submit it for publication, so if you actually open the attachment and actually plow through any or all of it, I will appreciate whatever comments, criticisms, corrections you care to convey. If you are on the WALTA list you might see a similar note but the attachment is the same. I'm also sending it around to some other unsuspecting folk, so if you are one of them, you know what this is about.
I will be away in the summer but will stay in the loop for next year's conventûs. Aestatem amoenissimam vobis exopto,
Bob Fradkin
