Dear John,

Have the Latinists met recently? I have not seen any dinner plans for
over two months, maybe more.
I was asked to write an entry on Marcus Aurelius for the Encyclopedia
of Ancient History. I feel like this is something you can do better
than me - you know his writings and philosophy. I would be willing to
contribute the political and historical part of the entry, but I can
not manage the rest of it. Is this a project that interests you? It
could/should go on your CV as a contributor to the EAH. I am happy to
collaborate or give the entire project to you if you are willing.
What do you think? They would like to see a draft on 1 Nov and then
go back and forth for 3 moinths making changes, as is their usual
policy.
