Ioannes omnibus sal.

Proh dolor, paene omnes aberunt die 26 huius mensis, quam ob rem non
erit cena hoc mense. Sententia mea, multo facilius est cenam latinam
componere anno scholastico ineunte. Quam ob rem, exspectate nuntios
futuros de cenis mensis Aug et Sep. Nihilominus, ego et pater meus
apud spectaculum religiosum versabimur
(http://stpaulsoakland.org/Misc/Compline/Default.aspx), et fortasse
alios vos videamus. Spero ut vos in futuro videam.

Ioannes

Greetings to all

Unfortunately, almost all of our participants will be away on the
26th, so we won't have a Latin dinner this month. In my experience, it
is much easier to put a cena together once the school year has begun.
Therefore, expect announcements soon for gatherings in Aug. and Sep.
Nevertheless, I and my father are planning on attending the Compline
service (http://stpaulsoakland.org/Misc/Compline/Default.aspx), and
perhaps we'll see a few of you there. Hope to see you soon

Dear John,

I am happy to see the dinners return and closer to home for men, but by
some odd quirk the dinners routinely occur the worst week of the month
for me. In this month it was the JCL convention (which this entire
list should be supporting). One month it was the state JCL and before
that a similar conflict and so on... .
I do not remember if you are teaching this year or not, but if you are
you should get the JCL calendar in advance and mentally block out those
weekends.
I look forward to an August dinner.

PS - I am not teaching HS or Latin this year, but the JCL people keep me
in the loop usually.

Salve Gaius,

Your point is well-taken, and I'll be sure to consider JCL events in
future scheduling.
