Welcome to the what appears to be quarterly but is really supposed to be monthly CE Murphy Newsletter for January 2013. Also for November and December and possibly October 2012. And maybe September 2012 too but that would just start getting embarrassing so we'll pretend otherwise.

*clears throat*

As you might imagine from such a delay, I have ALL KINDS of things to tell you about.

The first chapter of MOUNTAIN ECHOES (Book 8 of the Walker Papers, out in March 2013) is available here: http://cemurphy.net/excerpts-short-stories/mountain-echoes

March, you say! Catie, you say, we can't wait that long!

Well! You're in luck, then, because I have just released NO DOMINION, the Kickstarter-funded novel about Gary Muldoon, into the wild! It is in effect book 7.5 of the Walker Papers, with the main story taking place in the middle of RAVEN CALLS.

This is a self-publishing venture, and as such is only available online. You can get it:

For Nook: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/no-dominion-ce-murphy/1114077378?ean=2940016099705

For Kindle: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AXYGY1M

As a trade paperback: http://www.amazon.com/dp/1613170300

Go forth, buy, enjoy!

In closing, let me point you at this fundraiser for SF author Jay Lake, whose genome is going to be sequenced in a last-ditch attempt to save his life from the cancer that's killing him. That's very depressing, sorry. But there are a lot of ridiculous things happening to support the genome sequencing fundraiser, and I will be doing something appalling:

I'm going to read excerpts from my first novel.

I wrote this thing 20 years ago. Nobody except one very close friend and the (presumable) intern at DAW Books who rejected it has ever read it. I'm afraid to look at the manuscript. BUT I AM GOING TO. And I'm going to record myself doing it, along with my commentary to my 19-year-old-self, for the entertainment and amusement of those who support Jay's fundraiser. So drop on by and throw a few dollars in the kitty if you can: http://www.youcaring.com/medical-fundraiser/Sequence-a-Science-Fiction-Writer/38705

And that's all for this month!

(Oh. Unless you still need a 2013 calendar, in which case, http://www.zazzle.com/2013_irish_bird_calendar-158359764109996651 is a nice one. You'll like the duck. Everybody likes the duck...:))
