Build India Scholarship (BIS) by L&T to pursue M.Tech in IIT's for BE (Civil, Mech & EEE)

Dear Friends,

It is more easy to get into IIT Delhi & IIT Madras for post graduation (M.Tech [Construction Technology and Management]) when compared to GATE 2013. For example, the total no. of candidate appeared in GATE 2011 is given in the table below. But for BIS exam the expected no. of candidates to appear will be only around 3000. So please make use of this opportunity.

Eligibilty: 

First-class graduates with minimum aggregate average of 65% of marks in Civil /Mechanical /Electrical Engineering who will pass out in 2012 from a recognized Indian University / Institute.

Age: Not more than 23 years as on 01-07-2013.

Minimum Height: 160 cm.

Minimum Weight: 50kg.

Vision: If wearing glasses, power should be less than ± 5.0 dioptres.

Larsen and Toubro (L&T), top Engineering construction company in India informs that is coming forward to sponsor deserving candidates who wish to pursue their M.Tech in Construction Technology & Management in IIT Delhi or IIT Madras.

Candidates who are passing out in 2012 in Civil or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with at least 65% marks from a recognized Institute can apply.

Selection will be done by a written test and Interview by IIT faculty and L&T.

L&T Built India Scholarship :

The regular 2 year program, which begins from July 2012 will be completely sponsored by L&T for the selected candidates. For the 24 – months duration of the course, L&T ECC will provide selected candidates a stipend of Rs.9,000/- pm and pay sponsorship and tution fees to IITs.

Absorption :

Candidates who successfully complete the course will be considered for absorption in regular employment in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Company. Total emoluments on absorption, at current rates, exceeds Rs.4,00,000 – per annum on cost – to – company (CTC) basis. The Company offers excellent career growth prospects.

Undertaking :

Before joining, candidates selected will be required to execute an undertaking for a value of Rs.3,00,000/- to complete the course, and subsequently, if selected for employment, to serve the Company for a minimum period of 5 years. (My Comment: Please don't consider the above sum as burden,,,, There is nothing great than getting a IIT degree)
