ICI-Fest 2013 @ IIT Madras - Open to All - Final Announcement

Hello All,

Here is a golden opportunity for Civil & Architectural Engineering students to participate in the IC‑Fest 2013. A national level technical camp organized by ICI – IIT Madras Students Chapter and Indian Concrete Institute, Chennai Center on 14^th & 15^th March, 2013 at IC&SR Auditorium, IIT Madras, Chennai.

 

$$$$ Institute Head / Department Head / Faculty / Staff In-charge are requested to display the attached ICI-Fest 2013 Flyer in the respective notice boards for the benefit of the students $$$$

 

ELIGIBILITY

§  Any bonafide Civil or Architectural Engineering student from any Institute / College can participate in the events.

§  A student or a team can submit abstract for one or more event(s).

§  The food and accommodation will be provided in IIT Madras hostel at free of cost for the students selected as the participants and this provision is not applicable for attendees.

 

EVENTS & IT'S THEMES

1.   Paper presentation on design & construction challenges associated with existing civil engineering marvels.

2.   Poster presentation illustrating poor construction in the field and remedies.

3.   Silent short-film for unskilled workers.

a.    Needs to follow safety regulations at concrete construction site

b.   Field procedures to make quality concrete.

4.   Short-film for skilled personnel.

a.    The adverse effects of high water-cement ratio on the quality of concrete.

b.   The adverse effects of poor compaction & curing on the quality of concrete.

Selection list announcement: 27^th February, 2013

ICI-Fest 2013: 14^th & 15^th March, 2013

CEAFest 2013: 15^th – 17^th March, 2013 (www.ceaiitm.org)

 

WORTH OF PRIZES

1^st Place = Rs.6000/-, 2^nd Place = Rs.4000/-, 3^rd Place = Rs.2000/-

 

KNOWLEDGE ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMS

ü  Visit  to  research  facilities  in  Civil  Engineering  laboratories  at  IIT  Madras.

ü  Demonstration on special concretes.

ü  Technical lecture series.
