As a remembrance of the 30th anniversary of our poll,  I wonder if Dan (or someone else with the requisite photoshop skills) could make a digital badge or medal, or some kind of recognition of the winner, who could then and forever include it in their signature, or whatever…?
It could easliy be altered from year to year and awarded to the successive winners...

With 10 games remaining, the Boston Celtics have exceeded expectations and somehow found themselves as betting favorites to make it out of the East and into the finals. There were talks of tanking. There were talks of struggling to make it into the play-in.

What they gonna say now?!

Jayson Tatum is back. Jaylen Brown is an MVP candidate. Baylor Sheierman is a legitimate NBA player. Neemias Queta is one of the best centers in the league and is making $2.35m this year. Who needs Holiday, Porzingis, Horford and Kornet?

The Celtics are real. And they've been really fun to watch this year. There are high effort, high IQ players starting and on the bench. They're killers on D. They get a ton of rebounds and never turn the ball over. They are winners.

Their 72nd game this season was against the reigning champs, the Oklahoma City Thunder. Both teams at full strength, the Celtics pulled ahead in a major statement win. As we head into the final stretch of the season, they are showing that their championship window is still very much open.

When we last checked in at the 1/2 way point, they held a record of 26-16 record, or .619 winning percentage. They were on pace for a 51 win season.

Since then, they have won 22 and lost 8. They hold a 48-24 record, or a .667 win percentage. They are on pace to win 55 games.

That said, the remaining ten games are tough. Hawks, Hornets, Hawks, Heat, Bucks, Raptors, Hornets, Knicks, Pelicans and Magic. Aside from the Pelicans and the Bucks (can't believe I'm saying that), every team they play is good and will be fighting for seeding. This is a gauntlet - and perhaps just what Tatum needs to get ready for the postseason..

If the Celtics don't win another game, they will end the season 48-34, and if they don't lose another game they will end the season 58-24.

Here is where we stand - all of the pessimists are OUT. And all of the media predictors are out too!
