Headline article on Yahoo NBA:

Apparently the JJ Jackson Jr. rumors are being spun as a result of the "Ja Morant is available" messaging coming out of Memphis . . .

JJJ at $35M is a Big worth spending the Simons/Hauser currency on, even throwing in picks or even Gonzalez as a sweetner (as suggested in the Yahoo article) . . . it would be a big swing but a much better fit than bringing in Zubac or Vucevic at $20M, and his contract and age 26 yo is perfect with Brown and Tatum.  Compared to someone like Sabonis at $42M, JJJ is a bargain . . . and is simply much better than role players like Jalen Smith or Wendell Carter Jr that can also rebound and shoot the 3, just not like JJJ can do with ease.  He seems very close to a Horford type that can play Center but prefers PF.

Jack,

JJJ would definitely provide an upgrade the C’s team defense; and as you mentioned, he can shoot it from beyond the arc (35-36% proficiency). His rebounding is not as robust as I think it could or should be but that’s just my observation as I do watch the Grizzlies on a frequent basis. I would expect Memphis also wanting draft picks along with the package of  players you mention and it would pain me to give up Hugo.

So that's what a max contract looks like vs the super max that Brown and Tatum signed!

It would be a huge investment and commitment, such that the C's would have to be really confident that they'd get good cracks at a championships during a new big 3+White+Prichard run for 3 years. there wouldn't be a lot of roster flexibility of they do it, as they'd be in 2nd apron hell next year . . . but they'd have at least two solid seasons (26-27 and 27-28) with a starting lineup of Pritchard-White-Brown-Tatum-Johnson, and would have to figure out how to hang on to folks like Queta, Walsh, Garza, Scheierman, Minott . . . not sure they'd have much of a bench, which has been a huge part of their success this year.

This would be a very welcome addition!

He dropped 30 this afternoon on the Magic in a losing effort. But only managed to grab 3 rebounds. That’s disappointing considering their replacement PG collected 7 boards by comparison.

For sure rebounding has not been his strength as it wasn't for Al Horford or Porzingis.  If he can get into that 8-9/game range on this team that would be a plus.  Outside of that, he's a solid two way player that would provide great skill as a big much like Horford did.  The other issue outside the rebounding is motor but I'm sure Mazzulla has a good chance to remedy that!
