I had only about a dozen entries and about 120 shows were mentioned. I'll send out the full list later (suspense!). but here are the shows mentioned in multiple lists:

TWO MENTIONS
X Files, Treme, The Office, Star Trek, Star Trek Next Generation, Sopranos, Rockford Files
NCIS, Murder She Wrote, MASH, Man from UNCLE, Lonesome Dove, I Love Lucy, Honeymooners, Deadwood, Columbo, Chernobyl, Breaking Bad, Beverly Hillbillies, Barney Miller, Band of Brothers

comments from me: surprised to see Sopranos with only 2

THREE MENTIONS

Twin Peaks, Twilight Zone, True Detective, Taxi, Gunsmoke, Game of Thrones, Better Call Saul, All in the Family

comments from me: one person specified certain seasons of True Detective.  Nah: you like the show or not.

FOUR MENTIONS

Cheers

comment from me: lotsa Boston folks contributed!

 FIVE MENTIONS

The only show with five mentions, the champ: to be revealed, but I welcome guesses.  Stay tuned.

I don't see Friends or The Wire, but assuming the audience you polled is predominantly male, my guess for the top spot is The Wire, and deservedly so . . .

Friends received NO votes!  Now that I say it, I guess that surprises me a bit.
Since we've had streaming and recording, there are four shows I have watched from start to finish twice: The Wire, Breaking Bad, Downton Abbey, Homicide.  I started The Sopranos but strayed.  I still watch Cheers, but maybe one episode per month - only on season 2.

One voter said he or she had only watched 3 years of The Wire, so wouldn't put it on his/her list - that would have been eight votes!

I need to figure the best way to show you ALL the shows that got single votes - well over 100.  Formatting issues ...

I got stuck on Breaking Bad and didn't follow through . . . the 3rd or so episode bathtub dissolving scene - don't know why it grossed me out, but it did.

I'm thinking about watching NCIS but then you mentioned Homicide . . . which one should get the nod??

Well, I did a one-year subscription to Peacock just to watch Homicide, which had been inaccessible for almost 25 years. It is my #1 show of all time by a large margin. It was also the first TV venture by David Simon, who later did The Wire.

I never watched NCIS.

Having watched every episode of NCIS (except this season, which I will binge after the season is done), and none of Homicide, I lean toward NCIS.

I have seen many NCIS episodes multiple times.

If you want to start with a "Greatest Hits" tour, I can did out the lists I left in my DVD collection for the first 7 seasons or so.

Homicide is on Tubi too . . . I'll move it up my list and give it a try, as I'm sure I saw a lot of them when they came out in the 90s. The Wire and Baltimore connections make sense now!

NCIS - there are so many seasons - a little daunting just like LOST was, and I lost interest!!  But most certainly Ravi - if you have a greatest hits, I'd love to see it.  I kind of picked and chose my way through Columbo that way too ;)

All of Ravi's stuff is interesting.  But I'm not Ravi.

Send your email address to me at NCC17...@aol.com.  I'll send back my NCIS lists.  This offer stands for anyone else as well.

You have a good argument - why subscribe to Peacock for one show?

We have a smart TV that features a channel that apparently shows The Rifleman 24/7.

Ahhh - The Rifleman. The originator, not an imitator like Chuck Person. 😊

But seriously, that was a terrific TV series.

Sorry NCC . . . brain cramp on Celts Fan

I'm watching S1E1 of Homicide and the intro is not familiar at all but the characters certainly are . . . I'm rolling!

Hurray Jack!!!  You get to know the characters as the show goes on. The episode that really gave the show a boost is “Bop Gun,” with Robin Williams. Late s1, I think.

Belzer played that role all 7 seasons, after which his character moved to NY on one of the Law and Order shows for several more years.
