To solve that issue (of not getting my own posts back), I have signed up for a second account with a non Google address and selected “no mail” for that account.
I can post from that one and receive all posts from my Google one.

If you prefer to read the days posts in one mail, you can select "digest" and if you would rather read the posts on the web site, you can select "no mail."
