Campus Ministry Meet and Greet + Free Concert and Fireworks -Sunday June 29th

Friends,

We need as many students as possible to join us on Sunday evening for the event mentioned below.  Your presence is needed to show those who support our ministry that you care, and to help out with hospitality.  Depending on the turnout - we might need you to also serve as a Campus Tour Guide for the walking tour.  If there are enough guests, we will split them up into smaller tour groups.  Guests will also need assistance finding things like the bathroom, etc.

Subject: Campus Ministry Meet and Greet + Free Concert and Fireworks -Sunday June 29th

Greetings Friends of Campus Ministry,

 

On behalf of Cherokee Presbytery's Campus Ministry Commission, I would like to invite you and your spouse or significant other to join us Sunday June 29^th, at the 1st Annual Friends of Campus Ministry Meet & Greet - an evening of fellowship and light hors d'oeuvres at KSU's Star Spangled Spectacular Concert and Fireworks Display (free) featuring the Cobb Symphony Orchestra.  Dress comfortably, bring a blanket and some chairs, and we'll provide the food and refreshments.  This is a wonderful opportunity to meet our campus ministry personnel, some of our students, and the voting commissioners who volunteer their time to provide leadership and direction for the campus ministries we support at Berry, Shorter, and KSU.  Hopefully next year we can continue the tradition at either Berry or Shorter with a similar event.

 

 

Event Schedule:

 

6:00 PM: Arrive (please park in the Central Deck, directions below) on campus, park, and meet up on the Campus Green.

We will attempt to have an area already saved, but because the concert is open to the public we can't guarantee availability.

KSU will have directional arrows from the Parking Deck to the Campus Green, and we will have signs to help you find us when you get there.

 

6:15 PM: Walking Tour of KSU Campus. 

The tour will take approximately:45 minutes. Please wear comfortable shoes.

 

7:15 PM:  Light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments on Campus Green.

We'll "pass the hat" for donations.  We're suggesting $10 per person to help offset costs of the refreshments. Any profits will be used to support our campus ministries.

 

7:30 PM: Star Spangled Spectacular Concert by Cobb Symphony Orchestra followed by Fireworks Finale.

We estimate the concert and fireworks will conclude around 9:00 PM.

 

 

 

This fun social gathering will also serve as a prelude to our next meeting: Thursday evening, July 16th, 6:30pm in the Presbytery Office.  All are welcome to join us.

Directions to the Central Parking Deck (from Chastain Road):
