So, we're not having the "typical spring retreat" this year. And that's pretty cool, actually. I was thinking about it hte other day, and about our theme for this year: "While We Live, We Serve." It seems totally appropriate to me that this year, instead of going on a retreat, away from everything, everybody, and focusing solely on ourselves, that we're stepping out of our comfort zones, that we're making a plea for the rescue of Joseph Kony's Child Soldiers (LRA, Uganda & Congo). That we're serving, instead of being served.

Details for THE RESCUE - ATLANTA (this saturday, 4/25)

Meet @ KSU, 2:00pm - in the East Lot (behidn Waffle House), and we'll caravan/carpool, whatever - to Atlanta, where we'll join hundreds (maybe thousands) of others who share our concern for the children of Uganda/Congo - who share the faith and belief that these children should be allowed to return to their families, and that Joseph Kony should be brought to justice.

UPDATE: THIS WILL NOT BE AN OVERNIGHT EVENT. We will join everyone at Turner Field in Atlanta, then walk to Grant Park, where the activities, etc. will take place. Then we'll be "RESCUED" hopefully by some local celebs/moguls, and at 11:00pm (for reasons unknown to me - sorry) we'll head back to Turner Field and head home. You are all invited to join me for Worship on Sunday morning (as always).

Details for CAMPING IN MAY - (oh yeah, I should mention - we're going to also go on a camping trip in May for those of you that can't come this weekend.)

We'll be camping on May 16 & 17, 2009 - at a location to be determined. It will be at a Lake, probably Lake Alatoona - maybe a lake in Alabama, or somewhere else, but that's up in the air right now. Stay tuned.
