Since few days ago i've noticed that option for Banking Protection slows down the browsers and make them lagged. It takes very long to open a tab, sometimes more than a 2-3 seconds, and make my browsers be lagged. It happens on every tab, not only on those that are edited as payment websites in options.

You've mentioned that Banking and payment protection is slowing down the browser, however, at the same time you wrote that disabling web access settings made a difference. If so, then Banking and payment protection is not the culprit and disabling this setting has no effect on the issue, does it?

As i said, i've noticed it started to happen few days ago, i don't know if there was an update from ESET for this option. I know only that Chrome and Firefox got updated, and then it start to happen. My PC is strong enough to run even newest games with no problem, but with this option enabled it cannot even run simple browser with few tabs

Something is worng with this option for sure, it started to happen after the new Chrome and Firefox updates few days ago. Obviously ESET needs a fix to adopt new changes in the browsers code. It's not so noted in Firefox as in Chrome. In Chrome it literally stops/freezes for few seconds when changing tabs. I am talking about the sites that are not in a payment range, so the banking does not need to be enabled (like paypal or some banking sites).

Please carry on as follows:
- reboot the machine
- enable advanced operating system logging under Tools -> Diagnostics in the advanced setup
- reproduce the issue
- disable logging
- collect logs with ESET Log Collector
If the generated archive is too big to upload it here, upload it to a file sharing service and drop me a message with a download link.

I'm also experiencing a similar issue. For the past couple of days Firefox has become really laggy...especially noticable when starting the browser. Disabling banking protection seemed to fix it for me. I may try reinstalling EIS in the weekend to see if that improves things.

I've been having similar-sounding problems in the browsers I use (Firefox and Chrome) since late March. Originally thought my computer itself was going bad, until on a hunch I uninstalled ESET and found my browser problems all vanished. Reinstalled ESET and my browser problems returned.

Yes, please provide ELC logs. Before collecting them, enable advanced logging under Help and support -> Technical support, then launch a browser and reproduce the issue. Next stop logging, collect logs and upload the generated archive here along with a description of the issue that you have reproduced.

I'm confused by log collecting. There are what look like to entirely separate log collection facilities, one described at -how-do-i-use-eset-log-collector, and the other in ESET Internet Security under Help and Support -> Technical Support.

On top of that, ESET Log Collector has the one button "Collect". I can press that button, but then if I press "Cancel", the ESET Log Collector erases its log file. There's no manual way to stop log collecting as far as I can tell.

First you need to generate advanced logs from time when the issue occurs. To enable advanced logging, navigate to Help and support -> Technical support and toggle the appropriate option. Next reproduce the issue and then disable logging.

On the first attempt, not only did I start Firefox and log a note to this thread, I also went to python.org and downloaded the pdf for the latest version of python, and the zip file was smaller than on the second attempt.

OK, I followed your instructions.
I started up Google Chrome, typed in a search phrase into Google Search, and did a search.
The letters in the phrase appeared very slowly, but the search results appeared very quickly once the browser responded to my request to submit the search.

This time, I started up Google Chrome, right-clicked the Google Search page, selected "Save As", and saved that web page to disk. The Windows save as dialog took forever to appear, I wondered if it would ever appear.

Would it be possible to temporarily uninstall the touchpad software? According to the logs, it attempts to inject C:\Program Files\GlidePoint\glidehok.dll into the secured browser. I'd like to rule out the possibility that the issue is caused by blocking the injection since the dll is untrusted.

I uninstalled it, rebooted, and my browser issues are fixed! I'm shocked, because I have used that touchpad software for years, ever since I purchased this computer. These browser issues, which are less than a month old, also vanish when I uninstall ESET and Microsoft Defender takes over. Where do we go from here?

I've used ESET for years, played these games with it previously. But this last month, it refuses to let them connect. The only way I've been able to run either is to disable the firewall the entire time I play, and that's not a good solution. That also tells me though, that ESET is definitely the problem.

Every other thread I've seen on this topic ends with "delete all the existing rules and put it into interactive mode"
but that has not worked for me. Interactive mode is how I normally leave the firewall, and it works for everything else, but I am never getting the pop-up for these. I've even tried a trick I've learnt with some other programs, which is to disable for 10 minutes, run the application and then wait for ESET to 'discover' it when it turns back on. But in these cases it just shuts down all communication at that point. Which in WoW kicks me off, and in Hearthstone crashes the application completely.

I've been trying to manually configure both applications. First allowing all, then specifically allowing the ports indicated on -proxy-router-and-port-configurationbut I'm not getting anywhere with that either. It's possible I'm setting it up wrong, because I have no idea what I'm doing there.

Does allowing the appropriate communication via the firewall troubleshooting wizard work? What about removing all block rules and switching to learning mode while playing the game so that the necessary rules are created automatically?

My suspicion is it has something to do with port 3724, since Hearthstone and WoW have that in common. Diablo III, which I launch through the same Blizzard launcher etc does not use that port, and operates fine.

I want to add to this thread and post that after 9.0.375.0 came out, I have had nothing but problems. Windows Store Apps will not update "all" of them. My Second Life "Game" keeps saying it found a Degrade in Performance and locks up. My printer, my WD Cloud HDD, and other stuff are getting BLOCKED! I have hit unblock but they just block it again. I have uninstalled, used the eset uninstaller, did a clean install of Windows 10 and nothing wants to work properly unless I just uninstall eset and leave it off the computer. This needs to get fixed asap!

but that has not worked for me. Interactive mode is how I normally leave the firewall, and it works for everything else, but I am never getting the pop-up for these. I've even tried a trick I've learnt with some other programs, which is to disable for 10 minutes, run the application and then wait for ESET to 'discover' it when it turns back on. Thanks guys. Ultimately I have found a solution. I deleted, then reinstalled both games. ESET still didn't 'learn' a rule, but at least when I made one for it, it actually stuck. Hearthstone was just a particular challenge, because for whatever reason, where most games simply throw up a "can't find connection" error, it would just straight up crash.

My issue is, when I install ESET Internet Security, do full update afterwards, and then restart my computer, my computer freezes. After I input my Windows login credentials, all I can see is a blank screen. Nothing works, not even task manager. Only way to save my computer is to enter Windows Safe Mode and run ESET uninstaller tool manually. After that computer turns to normal.

Support team told me that Acronis Backup was the root cause, and Acronis told me they have no issues. I was using Acronis only as a backup tool, its active protection was completely disabled. To rule out Acronis, I uninstalled it completely but result was same. Support team also told me to uninstall previous security products via their uninstaller tools, not just from Apps & Features. I had Kaspersky and Bitdefender installed before (only one was running at once) and I ran their uninstaller tools. Result was same.

Other security apps have no issues, but ESET is problematic. Support is also one of the worst which I encountered so far. They keep asking me to provide logs and I am telling them I can't do that because ESET is freezing my computer. Also every reply takes at least a week.

Did you use default settings after installing ESET from scratch? If so, please carry on as follow:
- uninstall ESET (e.g. in safe mode using the ESET Uninstall tool)
- configure Windows to generate complete memory dumps as per
- install ESET and reproduce the issue
- trigger a manual crash so that a complete memory dump is generated
- uninstall ESET
- collect logs with ESET Log Collector
- compress the memory dump and upload it together with ELC logs to a safe location
- drop me a personal message with a download link.

Example: I work at home with my girlfriend, and when I open my laptop, I disconect her connection, then we are starting to click like crazy the reconnect tab at the wifi, we lose smtg like 10-12 min doing it before it really works.

Please clarify what ESET product you purchased and installed. Is it ESET NOD32 Antivirus, ESET Internet Security or ESET Smart Security Premium? The first one doesn't include a firewall so it cannot affect other than http/https network communication.

Does temporarily pausing the firewall make a difference? If so, please run the Firewall troubleshooting wizard to find out if a desired communication has been recently blocked and unblock it, if necessary. Also check Known networks in the advanced setup and try configuring your network to "Trusted network" instead of the default "Use Windows setting":
