So I bought 11 suite with edu discount and the way it works is that you can download it right away and do anything but it won't let you save or export. You have to wait a day to get the license registration code. Now I have the code and some project that I started in ableton but can't save. Is there any way to authorize the license in ableton without having to restart it so the authorization thing pops up. I really don't want to lose all my work

It is actually not clear what to do if you are in my situation. They can remove authorizations from all computers and allow me to authorize 2 machines that I want again, but there is no option on doing this so I asked them for additional authorization.

Afterwards, I did a clean OS install of each device and deployed Live fine without needing to reauthorize. Control surfaces were automatically recognized / configured by Live. One item I need to follow up on: I included -_DisableAutoUpdates in the Options.txt file, but Live's preferences show that automatic updates are still enabled.

I have recently bought Ableton Live, and I installed it as suggested, but: when I press on the "authorize with ableton.com" button, it takes me to my account, but I just see a download for Ableton Live 10 (Standard), I have already downloaded it after buying it.I installed Firefox, but there is no way at all, to make it the default browser. There is something off with Windows... Firefox does not show up in the default browsers.

I went ahead with the offline activation using the .auz file, but Windows needs to set a default program to open it, but after browsing my PC and choosing ableton as a default, it does not open and then it drops the same message, something like: Windows needs to have a default program to open that. I opened the file from LIVE like a new set live, but Live said the file was damaged.

I have tried almost everything except formating my PC and downloading Ableton Live again, I have re-installed Live three times, I re-installed Firefox two times, and I have followed everything, and there seems to be no way to authorize Live. With export and saving deactivated Ableton works fine, but I can't authorize it.

Before setting up your Oxygen Pro with Ableton, let's take a moment to authorize your software.

1. Launch the Ableton application from your computer's Program or Application folder.

2. The software will automatically prompt you to license the program. Click Authorize with ableton.com to proceed.

This has happened a couple of times. Not all the time, but sometimes. If this happens, just use your .vkeyfile keyfile to reauthorize your plugins. You can download the keyfile and the latest installers from your Valhalla DSP user account.

Yes. I changed the name of the files from .xml to .vkeyfile, as a few computers will do weird things when downloading files with a .xml suffix. The files are essentially the same, and both the older .xml keyfiles and newere .vkeyfile keyfiles can be used to authorize the latest plugin versions.

An unauthorized copy of Ableton will work, but the saving and exporting projects are disabled. You can work on ideas and have a live set running but will not be able to save and export the final product.

Yes, you can easily move all your projects, plugins, and samples to another computer. Only the Live software itself will have to be authorized again if you move files to a new computer.

All you have to do is run the saved file on a different computer to open the .ALS Live file. The computer will have to have an authorized Ableton Live version installed in order to run the file.
