Now that we have emeddable engines with their own assets in Rails 3.1,
which can be installed as a gem, it would be an interesting exercise
to see what it would take to gemify a minimal apotomo app.

I've brought this up with Nick before - I'd like to see like a widget framework like Flex's widgets.

With tissue integrated into Apotomo, it is pretty easy to have small engines with Apotomo widgets available to current applications. You could also have a rails partial with a widget and integrate it transparently into an application.

Maybe one extra step that would help is easing widget configuration on an application based and/or model (specially user) based.

Could somebody bootstrap an embedded engine project (see the Railscast
about them) with some widget to start with -- maybe jQuery.mask for a
masked edit control? Maybe with Twitter bootstrap 2.0?
