Great speaker dock for $100

There are virtually no speaker docks for Android and absolutely none that I could find with a remote control (other than the ones from this company). The Philips AS851/37 apparently did have a remote, but it's unavailable for whatever reason, plus it uses bluetooth which seems silly given I'm plugging in the phone into the dock. For me, I just want to plug in my phone, charge and use the remote to pause, fwd and change the volume. This seems like a rudimentary feature, but it's seemingly absent from the market for whatever reason. In any case, I'm very happy with this unit, it has great sound and bass for the money to my ears, a cinch to use and the remote is great for the dining room where I use the device, hear a song you don't like and fwd and it's gone.
There is another older model of the device that seems similar and for $20 less, but doesn't have the bendable cords. But those are worth it to me, since they make it really easy to position the phone and
makes it really easy to plug and unplug the phone.

I read the reviews and want certain about this product, but I'm glad I bought it, the unit is solidly built, sounds great and is loud. It's clearly a home unit (no batteries and larger than the portable booth speakers) but you get a lot more volume and sound quality for that (particularly bass), so it's worth it to me. Also it charges your phone and acts as a speakerphone (you can answer a call using the play button on the remote or you can ignore with the ff or rewind button.

Impressive sound, handy remote for ease of use!

I think I'm in love. No seriously, Bluetooth speakers be damned. Sound is awesome, great bass. The remote is handy too - I'm actually motivated to do the dishes and clean [gasp!] because I can listen to music and I don't have to mess with my phone to pause songs or turn down the volume. Plus it charges your phone!
