Our study is very simple. We're looking for about 10 total patients (we've filled a few spots so far). Those who qualify can make an appointment to come in and donate a few tubes of blood (basically what you would do if you donated at a blood bank or the Red Cross) and our facility sends off the specimen (completely de-identified) to our partners in research. It's great for the celiac community and great for the patient as they are compensated for their donation. Here's the requirements:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Physicians Plasma Alliance (PPA), a leader in biologic specimen collection and distribution, is actively recruiting patients diagnosed with celiac disease. Patients interested in donating must meet the following requirements:
Must have a diagnosis of celiac disease
Must NOT be treated with steroids or biologics in the past 2 months
Must NOT be on any anti-inflammatory drug
Must NOT have any co-morbidities of lymphoma, GI cancer, or Crohn's
Must be between the ages of 18-70
Must have no medical history of hepatitis or HIV/AIDS
No medications or medical care will be given for this study. Compensation for time and donation is $75 (takes about 30 min).
Support local. Support research. Support your loved ones. Give PPA a call today at 423-477-3168 or opt-in to receive emails on upcoming studies by contacting arogers@pparesearch.com.
