This may not be the norm topic but this group understands. Saturday is went to chick fila and ordered a kids meal. Forgot to say grilled. For my meal and for some reason decided it would be fine to eat 4 little breaded nuggets. I was fine u til Sunday and now on day 3 of crampy stomach many trips to the bathroom etc. I knew better but sometimes I just like to think maybe this diagnosis isn't right....am I the only one who sometimes hates this disease? I do so well and monitor every bite. I know this disease is mine to control and adherence is the only solution. Just curious iF anyone else feels this way. Thanks for letting me vent.

Totally agree with your frustration ; however, I can honestly say I've never intentionally eaten gluten. The few times I've accidentally eaten it, I've been so sick that I wouldn't intentionally eat it for anything! I once considered doing my on little test to see if maybe I had some tolerance, Then accidentally ate a small piece of bread which I though was GF, but was not. Within 30 minutes or so, I got so sick with all the usual symptoms. I decided then maybe I shouldn't try my tolerance test! That pretty much answered my question!

I hope you are feeling better!

I think for the first year after diagnosis I didn't want to believe it either. But after a few bad episodes you just accept it and think positive by saying it could be something alot worse.

Oh my, sounds like me for sure! With my "symptoms" I never really had any gut issues. The day before I had the IGA/IGg blood test I had eaten at IHOP and that was a big stack of pancakes, too! No pain, no gut problems, but my test results were somewhere in the three hundred range and the biopsy was positive. So it gets really hard to behave myself. I have to remember what neuralgia, migraines and anemia were like and regroup!

Try not to be upset, I know it is so depressing.
When I have been contaminated it take my body up to two weeks to rid itself of this demon
called gluten.
The most important thing for you to do is not eat any gluten, I know you know this but every time you do it damages the intestine even more and it takes your body weeks to repair the damage. Every since my doctor told me that I haven't tried anything at all, no matter how badly I would love to try it the end result is awful.
He also told me that every time I am contaminated the results I experience will be worse and he was right in my case anyhow.

Please try to accept that it is what it is and make the best of it. There are a lot better tasting things out there now then 15 years ago when I was diagnosed with Celiacs Disease. I do so hope that you are feeling better soon.

If you are experiencing intestinal cramping there is a Rx that doctor can give you called Bentyl that will help with that.
I didn't know about this drug for the longest time until one day I called my doctor in tears I hurt so bad and he called it in.

Feel better!!!
