I want to replace my condo windows.

May I get some recommendation on contractors from those who

have replaced your windows?

What type and color of windows I need to pick?

How long is the process from sending architecture review to finishing window installing?

Is there anything I should be aware of while dealing with contractors?

How much did you pay?

Hi Taimei,

You have to contact the HOA for the Architectural application,fill it out, submit it back, Board has to Approve it at a meeting. There is a meeting next week.   They can tell you make/color etc.

About 6-7 of us here at Celeste Circle, including me, have used the attached person/company for windows installation:

Full house windows and doors - 2 days.

Depends whether you choose Retrofit or Full Construction- this is better....

No we did New Construction, as Retrofit is a frame installed on top of the old frame and over time it can leak water thru.

Yes can still hear some noise, i would say 60-70% less!

Yes you have to paint the walls from outside, HOA will tell you what paint color, the windows guys can come finish, if you ask for that too.

When we did our window replacement several years ago, we used Central Coast Windows - 200 Union St., Watsonville, CA 95076 (831-724-7174 / Fx 831-724-7377. We installed double-paned Milguard windows and DID NOT use inserts. That meant we had to remove the exterior stucco and have it replaced and blended into the existing pattern and repainted. We were doing interior work at the same time so had our contractor on site and turned him into a foreman for the window installation. Because we’re dealing with condo construction, he was able to do the necessary work to assure the openings for the new windows were properly squared. The company did a great job of installation and our first gas (heating bill) came in 30% lower. Yahoo!
