Bill Bender, a respected desert artist who lives in Victorville, has mixed memories of John Hilton. He sometimes annoyed his friends with his swagger and tendency to hog the spotlight. Yet he brought the impoverished painters needed attention. Painting landscapes is not inherently newsworthy so the desert artists needed a promoter. Hilton was it.

Kathi Hilton moved to northwestern Utah in the late 1970s and moved into a geodesic dome with her husband, Boyce Garvin. She showed her work widely in the West, exhibiting with the Death Valley 49ers and the Women Artists of the West, among others. Boyce died in 2007; Kathi still lives and paints in the dome.

Glad I stumbled on this article. Very interesting and entertaining. I am wondering how I can get in touch with Kathi Hilton. My parents Mary Anne and John Hilsabeck were great friends of John Hilton. in Santa Ana, Ca. If possible could you please forward her my email.
Thanks.

For the 30 years that Jerry Teel ran a Seattle institution, every agreement he ever made with Puget Sound farmers rested on a handshake. At one time, as many as 35 farms shipped product to his Vitamilk Dairy Inc., and every one of those relationships was secured only by the good word and reputation between two people.

All of the participants had a wonderful time at the cooking class. They expressed a lot of interest in Thai food and took pleasure in cooking with authentic ingredients. After the participants finished cooking Pad Thai, the chefs shared Bualoy Kathi with everyone as a sweet way to wrap up a great day of Thai cooking.

I have a full equipped Gratz Studio with 5 Reformers, 2 Cadillacs, 3 Wall Units, 4 Combo Chairs, 1 Wunda Chair, 1 High Chair, Tower, 3 Ladder Barrels (and 5 of each of the other barrels), 2 Baby Chairs, 4 Pedi-Poles, 2 Swedish Bars, 4 Neck-stretchers, 8 Foot Correctors and 26 Toe Correctors and 30 Magic Circles.

At the moment I am helping to develop one- more to come on that! My dream is create a program that can be used by studios to provide a high standard of training. Each responsible to themselves. Then to link all these studios without a large governing body. It will be about the work- not big business. Although, big business has a very important role, it is not my focus.

I would like for us to remember that Pilates is exercise for the normal healthy body- with that said- normal and healthy does not mean perfect! It is normal to have misalignments, healthy does not mean that you have never had an illness or an injury. I want teachers to learn the work for their bodies first- inside and out, before they become teachers. I want them to understand the work for a healthy person before an injured one. I want the work to be a work out- as it was meant to be.

Kathi Heffner joined the School of Nursing faculty in 2016 after eight years as a faculty member in the UR Department of Psychiatry, where she maintains a secondary appointment. Dr. Heffner is also the associate chief of research for the Division of Geriatrics & Aging in the Department of Medicine, supporting multidisciplinary aging research within the division and across the University of Rochester.

Over the course of her career, her research has evolved from a primary focus on human laboratory experiments to a complementary emphasis on clinical behavioral intervention trials. That approach has led to multidisciplinary collaborations with expert clinician researchers, including nurses, psychologists, physicians, and geriatricians, contributing to a better understanding of the basic mechanisms of stress and health, with the potential for immediate translation to clinical intervention.

My interests in stress and healthy aging have led to a current focus on behavioral interventions to promote well-being and immune health in caregivers of a family member with dementia. In one clinical trial, we are examining whether computerized cognitive training will promote stress adaptation and slow immune aging in family caregivers. In another trial, we are testing whether a mindfulness intervention will improve caregivers' antibody responses to influenza vaccine. Finally, I and my collaborators are advancing the development of behavioral interventions to promote social connectedness in lonely and isolated caregivers through our Rochester Roybal Center for Social Ties & Aging Research. This research on caregivers is supported by the National Institute on Aging of the National Institutes of Health.

Through her journey of familial and personal experience, and with her commitment to educate, motivate and inspire, Kathi Koll inspiringly shares how she and her husband advanced positivity in the face of a life-altering stroke.

For virtually her entire life, Kathi Koll lived in the front seat of caregiving. Kathi felt the full force of brutal illnesses, and yet she dug deep as a caregiver to respond to it all with strength, honesty, and a dignity that blazes a trail for the rest of us.

I cannot begin to tell you how much this grant has meant to me. The gift of this treasured grant allows me some rest each week, and/or time to run errands. When our caregiver arrives, I am able to leave with peace of mind. Thanks from the bottom of my heart for providing funds for our angel each week.
